Current Research Projects

The School of Animal & Veterinary Sciences is involved in various Cooperative Research Centres, including the CRC for High Integrity Australian Pork, as well as those for beef genetic technologies and, future farm industries. The School also has well established links with partner organisations which include the co-located South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI), the Department of Primary Industries and Resources South Australia (PIRSA), the Pig and Poultry Production Institute and Martindale Holdings (Roseworthy Farm Management). This adds considerably to the research opportunities available. The School also has well-established links with various Cooperative Research Centres and Institutes which adds considerably to the research opportunities available.

The School is a member of the Animal Welfare Alliance which is a formal part of the Animal Welfare Science Centre, a research and education partnership between the University of Melbourne, the Victorian Department of Primary Industries, and Ohio State University.
