Pathobiology
The Pathobiology team is led by Dr Milton McAllister, a specialist in Anatomic pathology, recently from the University of Illinois.
This team includes Dr Farhid Hemmatzadeh, a veterinary virologist with a special interest in Avian Influenza;
Dr Darren Trott, a veterinary microbiologist with a keen interest in gut flora in laminitis, and coliform adhesion to tissues;
Dr Ryan O’Handley, a veterinary parasitologist with a keen interest in cryptosporidia, Giardia and Toxoplasmosis.
Dr Lindsay Dent teaches immunology into this program and is based in the school of Molecular Biosciences.
Two other pathologists will also join this team.
Dr Suong Ngo, is a pharmacologist and pharmacist with a special interest in the liver metabolism in koalas and how this varies from other mammals.
