First Analyst / Manager Nick Robinson 1993 - 1997

Nick Robinson Dip IT, Sci Tech Cert
Nick Robinson worked as an ICP analyst in the Crop Nutrition Group from 1989 to 1997, bringing analytical experience from previous roles in the mining and exploration industry. During this time, Nick helped oversee major instrumentation upgrades and a rapid expansion of computerised laboratory automation. These advances in reliability and throughput allowed the group to take on external work from agricultural consultants as well as other government and non-government research organisations and ultimately form Waite Analytical Services. Nick was also a key figure in establishing the relationship between WAS and Luminis, the University's then commercial arm, to allow what was essentially a research facility to operate commercially and generate income that could be put back into the University.
Nick has since worked in Information Technology in the School of Economics and is now an IT Consultant to the Faculty of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Science and the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine, a role which has seen him re-establish ties with WAS.
