Fees

Payment of Voluntary Student Union Fees is optional. This option is available when you enrol online through Access Adelaide. Payment of the Union Fees entitles students to be members of the University Union with the use of the Union Buildings, facilities and services. It also entitles students to take part in the activities offered by the Student's Association, Clubs Association and the Sports Association.

Further details on University fees can be found at the Adelaide University Union website.

Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS)
Wilto Yerlo Foundation programs and the CASM Foundation Year are not part of the HECS system. However, students enrolled in the Associate Diploma of Aboriginal Studies in Music at CASM must pay HECS. The Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS) was introduced in 1989 as a way of ensuring that students contribute to the cost of their higher education.

Students can choose either to pay their HECS contribution up front (with a 25 per cent discount) or to defer all or part of their payment until their income reaches a certain level when they must begin repaying it through the taxation system. The interest free deferred payment arrangements mean that students are not prevented from participating in higher education if they are unable to pay the HECS contribution up front. If you take the pay later option you must provide a Tax File Number when you fill out your HECS Deferred Form when you enrol. If you do not have a Tax File Number then you can apply for one at the time of enrolment.

Details of the Scheme are available from the HECS website.
