Study Expenses
The cost of books will vary according to the programs being
studied. In general, students are expected to have their own copies
of text books. Books set for reference may be accessed in the Library
and do not necessarily have to be bought.
The University of Adelaide Union runs Uni-books bookshop which
supplies all prescribed text books and general books as well as
stationery. Second hand books are often available.
If the program you are undertaking has some other costs involved
such as excursions that are compulsory or other equipment such as
microscopes, then generally, fees cannot be charged. Abstudy has
a 'Living Away From Base' allowance for which students can apply
prior to travel associated with study.
CASM
Students at CASM are expected
to have their own instruments (or access to an instrument) for the
purposes of personal practice and performance and are expected to
bring their instruments to lessons and rehearsals as required.
Lists of required text books will be circulated by lecturers during
Orientation Week and during lectures. In general, students are expected
to have their own copies of texts, but advice should be sought from
lecturers before purchases are made. Only the prescribed edition
of any text book should be purchased. Books set for reference may
be accessed in the Performance Library and do not necessarily have
to be bought. Some texts are available for consultation at CASM.
Roseworthy
The Roseworthy Union has a book and stationary shop, and basic
supplies can also be purchased at the Waite Campus.
