Blue Sky Symposium 2009 & Public Lecture
National Wine Centre of Australia

The purpose of the Blue Sky 2009 is to connect cutting edge research with the wine industry, in ways that don't happen in traditional research areas.  Last year's event generated new research activities with the potential to transform the industry including:  sensors in wine bottle, monitoring vines on video, and new wine marketing tools.

The symposium will be followed by light refreshments and a public lecture:

The goal of this symposium is to showcase the latest research across the spectrum of disciplines from applied physiology through to cutting edge molecular biology with a focus on where new techniques in biotechnology are being used to advance our understanding of vine physiology.

The main theme of the Symposium is 21st Century Grape Research: Challenges and Opportunities.

Research articles and reviews from plenary and selected speakers will be published in a special issue of the Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research. The Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research has the highest impact factor for journals specialising in viticulture and oenology.
