  • Design, implementation of chemical and biological processes in wastewater treatment, water reclamation and resource recovery.
  • Development and application of biotechnological processes in biomass production, wastewater reclamation, biological nutrient removal and resource recovery.
  • Process optimisation and management on chlorinating, coagulation, flocculation, biological nutrient removal, softening and stabilisation in water reclamation from industrial wastewater.
  • Integrated biotechnological processes for recycling and conversion of organic wastes into value-added bioproducts.
  • Characterisation, bioremediation and biodegradation of hazardous, organic and contaminated wastes.
  • Optimisation, simulation and modelling of chemical and biotechnological processes.
  • Environmental assessment and planning, water quality analysis, monitoring and control process, and waste management

Academic and Industry Interests

Dr. Jin has taken a joint position as a Leader of Wastewater Research Unit in Australian Water Quality Centre, South Australian Water Corporation (SA Water) since 2004. Dr Jin is an editorial board member of three international refereed journals and an adjunct professor of 5 overseas institutions.
