Academic and Industry Interests

  • Since 1975 Dr Peter Dry has taught viticulture at both Roseworthy Agricultural College and University of Adelaide, and conducted research on many aspects of viticulture and plant physiology.
  • Associate Editor of Australian and New Zealand Wine Industry Journal
  • Senior editor of Viticulture Volumes 1 and 2.
  • Consultant to several vineyard development and management companies
  • Awards, recognitions and societal membershipsBAgSc, MAgSc, PhD (University of Adelaide)
  • Co-inventor (with Br Brian Loveys) of the partial rootzone drying PRD irrigation strategy. In 2001, PRD was named as one of the 100 most important technological innovations of the 20th century in Australia by the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering
  • Winner of SA Great Award in 2003 for Science and Technology (jointly with B Loveys and M McCarthy for the development of partial rootzone drying)
  • 2004 Riverlink Award: Scientific award to CRCV-MDBC Water use efficiency team
  • 2005 Riverlink Collaborative Scientific Team Award
