Department of Planning and Local Government and Sport (DPLGS)

The DPLGS plays a lead role in the creation and maintenance of strong, sustainable communities and in guiding South Australia’s growth and development. 

This is achieved through the development of strategic plans for Greater Adelaide and the regions, collaboration with key partners, involvement in the community, focus on governance and provision of advice. 

The department's work contributes to the achievement of the targets in South Australia's Strategic Plan aimed at growing prosperity, improving wellbeing, attaining sustainability, building communities and expanding opportunity.
