Welcome to Gender Indicators Online

Improving the status of women in South Australia is of central concern to the South Australian Government and the Premier's Council for Women. Gender Indicators Online (GIO) provides a range of gender indicators on the status of women in South Australia.

This resource builds on and expands the "Statistical Profile of Women in South Australia" that was released by the Premier's Council for Women in 2004. GIO is a tool to support a whole of government approach to gender sensitive policy/program development and evaluation . GIO is a collaborative initiative of the Premier's Council for Women, Office for Women, Department for Families and Social Inclusion and the former Australian Institute for Social Research (now WISeR).

Please note that GIO has been updated in September 2010 to incorporate the latest available data.

View South Australia's Strategic Plan

The Gender Indicators Online project will endeavour to relate relevant indicators back to the Strategic Plan and where possible, will provide time series data to track the performance of related indicators over time. View South Australia's Strategic Plan
