Women and Finance - what you need to know about managing your finances
Guest Speaker: Debra Long, Manager Westpac Women’s Markets SA
Would you like to know more about financial matters but don't know where to start? Would you like to know more about options to help you increase your financial security? Do you ask yourself - where does all my money go? Do you have investments but want to know more or diversify?
Getting good information about financial management and planning is an excellent place to start...
This lunchtime session provides a general overview of financial issues that specifically impact women and some tips on key financial matters women should concern themselves with.
Our guest speaker for the session will be Debra Long, Manager Westpac Women's Markets SA, part of Westpac's Ruby Connection and member of Women Chiefs of Enterprises (WCEI).
WPDN would like to establish through this session whether there is an interest/need for further development opportunities in the area of Finance and what topics would be of interest to you.
If there is an interest, WPDN will develop a series of development opportunities on finance related topics for women in the University. The sessions will focus on the various aspects of financial planning and management that are of interest to you - such as budgeting, superannuation, investments, property, shares.
These opportunities would provide sound, non-bias information as well as tools and strategies. We would tap into existing sessions - such as the UniSuper seminars and other external opportunities, as well as provide our own opportunities through the existing WPDN LNFs and/or other activities.
While this is a WPDN project we see these sessions as being open and available to all women staff in university

Some people love change and lead through it; some absorb and adapt to it with time; some hide from it; some obstruct it.
Faced with perpetual workplace change, the challenge is to develop to the point where we can confidently and competently achieve positive outcomes in change environments.
This workshop will provide practical understandings and strategies that will improve your "change friendliness" and thus better position you to effectively lead, manage and participate in change.
