Roseworthy Veterinary Alumni Committee
Supporting and engaging our veterinary alumni
The Committee is supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who help our veterinary alumni connect with each other and the School of Animal and Veterinary Science (SAVS).
Join the committee
Are you interested in representing your fellow alumni and broadening your networks. Or you might even have a great idea for a new initiative. The RVA network committee is currently looking for motivated and engaged individuals to join the committee for 2026. Numerous roles will need to be filled, including Vice-President, Treasurer, Student Representative and General Committee Member positions. Current vacancies
Vice President
Responsibilities:
- The Vice-President is expected to serve at least a two-year term. Should the President step-down from that position at the end of either of those years, the VP has the first option to assume that role
- Should the President be unable to continue in that role at any time, the VP will then become the President
- Fill-in for the President for any event they are unable to attend
- Complete the annual University grant application and then the funding acquittal report
- Assist the President where needed
Treasurer
Responsibilities:
- Receive quarterly updates from Alumni Relations Coordinator (ARC) and report to committee on finances
- Ensure expenses required for each event/activity can financially be covered
- Liaise with ARC about any payments that need to be made
Social Media/Marketing
Responsibilities:
- Administrate the network's social media profiles, specifically Facebook and Instagram, including publishing posts, creating events, checking direct messages and monitoring threads
- According to the individual's skill set, designing graphics to advertise and promote events including for CPD's and social events
- Ensuring sponsorship requirements are tracked and met (in conjunction with sponsorship coordinator)
General committee member
Responsibilities:
- Assist with organisation of annual events
- Input ideas for all events/activities
- Jump in to assist with smaller events
- UofA AVSA industry night
- AVA conference social drinks
- Promote all events and activities (survey, CPD, Newsworthy, Podcast episodes) to each year level and private RVA members page
- Take photos (with permission from attendees) if attending any RVA events to be used for social media and Newsworthy

Criteria
- Graduate of one or more of the following degrees: 1. BSc (Veterinary Bioscience) or equivalent, 2. DVM, 3. MVStud, 4. PhD (Vet Sci)
- Once a month 1-2hr Teams meeting
- Timely communication and actioning tasks between meetings via email and Teams
- If general committee member, then assisting in organising at least one of the events of the year
- Attending RVA network events (when possible)

Expressions of interest
Expressions of interest are now open for alumni to join the RVA Network Committee. New members will have a key role in driving RVA activities for the next 24 months.
