Manager |
Andrew Bartlett BMgt, Grad.Dip.Sc.Tech.Comm. Hi and welcome to Laboratory Animal Services web site. I have been the manager of this business unit since January 1998 but have worked in a number of animal care and facility management roles at the University of Adelaide from 1978. My management philosophy is based on developing a strong customer service culture within the unit by providing support and encouragement to the committed animal care officers. All the staff understand their role and its direct relevance to "good science" and will enthusiastically support your research activities. Although there are facility managers that will assist you in the day-to-day operational issues that confront you and I encourage you to seek out their advice and support, I very much welcome you to contact me directly to discuss any issue that relates to your biomedical research activity. |
Office Manager |
I have been employed as Office Manager in Laboratory Animal Services at the University of Adelaide since 1991 when the first director was appointed. I have watched the department refurbished and then steadily develop into the first-class facility it is today. My job offers a great deal of variety as it entails ordering and invoicing of all animal sales/cage holding costs for our many internal and external clients, ethics monitoring, purchasing and liaising with researchers. I worked in the University's administration throughout the 1970s before working overseas for five years in various fields. Upon my return in 1984, I worked for the University's first venture development company before rejoining its administration. |
