Demystifying Research Metrics Lecture

This lecture is targeted at staff and students who are publishing or who plan to publish in the future, and is particularly aimed at research students and Early Career Researchers.

This lecture examines the nature of bibliometrics and altmetrics measurements, and why they are important for researchers.

The lecture will:

    • Provide an overview of what bibliometrics and altmetrics mean
    • Review research profiles in Scopus
    • Explore these metrics:
      • Author h-index
      • Article metrics including altmetrics
      • Journal Ranking metrics
