Managing an HDR Thesis with Word - Lecture

This session is aimed at students who are producing a long document for submission. This is typically a thesis for a Higher Degree by Research.

Managing an HDR Thesis with Word - Lecture. CaRST Credit 1 hour. A: Knowledge and Intellectual Abilities. Face to Face.

Experience has shown that many students find difficulty with well-structured documents involving hundreds of pages. This difficulty often manifests itself in frustration towards the end of the candidature, so this course is most useful at the start of the HDR process.

This is a large group lecture. Attendees will not have hands-on use of a computer.

This lecture will help the user understand the concepts involved in managing a long document. It will include a demonstration of these techniques using Microsoft Word 2010. Experience has shown that some HDR students have used Word to prepare shorter documents, but have never understood the rationale for some of the more complex features.
