DSI Launches Researcher Meet-Ups with a tour of the Behaviour-Brain-Body Research Centre at UniSA’s Magill campus.

DSI kicked off its new event series on Friday, 8 August with a fantastic afternoon at the University of South Australia’s Behaviour-Brain-Body Research Centre  (BBB) at their Magill Campus.

The tour was led by the BBB’s director, Professor Siobhan Banks. The Institute investigates people through the combined lens of behaviour, brain and body, with a team of over 30 experts working collaboratively across behavioural change, fatigue and stress management, decision-making and recovery, to predict, prevent, detect and intervene, all with the aim of optimising human function.

Around 30 researchers from UniSA, the University of Adelaide, DSTG and industry attended the tour and networking event. The event showcased BBB’s cutting-edge work and helped build connections across the universities as they prepare to unite under the new Adelaide University banner.

This is just the beginning—DSI will continue hosting events at defence research-relevant facilities across both universities, especially those off the main campuses. If you are a defence researcher that have a lab or facility you’d like to see featured in a future tour, please let us know. Contact DSI via  defence@adelaide.edu.au to share your ideas and help shape the next event.
