Defence Communications and Networking

To maintain warfighting superiority over our adversaries we need to field the best networking technologies. It is not sufficient to “assume the network”. Modelling & Simulation (M&S) of communications bearers, systems & networks is essential to ensure that the “comms are fit for purpose”.

Core capabilities

The Centre for Defence Communications & Information Networks (CDCIN) has collaborated with Telstra on every technology refresh in their networks over the last 30 years. Our software is used to optimise CAPEX spend on capacity upgrades in their network. Leveraging these capabilities we consult around to the World to Major network operators and vendors.

Traffic characterisation then validation and verification of assumptions and measurements is critical in understanding the impact of the network on an end to end system. Data analytics is a core capability.

Pre-deployment evaluation of network effectiveness to support the mission is the key and necessary outcome. Also useful in requirements setting.
