The degree enables students to explore and investigate an area of interest in the field of nursing and to develop the research skills required for study at a higher level. Graduates who gain a first division honours can apply directly for PhD study.
Graduates have research skills and knowledge that complements their prior studies, and will be prepared for research roles across the health care sector and in academia. Completing an Honours degree also provides a distinct point of difference in a competitive job market.

Degree StructureTo qualify for the degree of Bachelor of Nursing (Honours), students must satisfactorily complete a program of study of not less than 24 units. Students complete 3 units each in the courses Nursing Research Literacy and Nursing Systematic Reviews of Research, and a supervised Research Project of 18 units.
