The Honours Degree of Bachelor of Nursing offers nursing graduates the opportunity to undertake a research project related to nursing. The main component of the degree is the conduct of a research project leading to the production of a research report in the format of a paper for publication. Students are individually supervised by experts in their field.

The degree enables students to explore and investigate an area of interest in the field of nursing and to develop the research skills required for study at a higher level. Graduates who gain a first division honours can apply directly for PhD study.

Graduates have research skills and knowledge that complements their prior studies, and will be prepared for research roles across the health care sector and in academia. Completing an Honours degree also provides a distinct point of difference in a competitive job market.
