The world is becoming more and more urbanised. Investments in land, infrastructure, offices, housing, retail and recreation facilities are increasing across the globe.
Property developers work to get the best results for all involved. They make sure developments are safe, productive, sustainable, high-quality and profitable.
What will you do?
Our Master of Property is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. It draws on the expertise of multiple University faculties. You will:
- take core courses in finance, project management, law, development and construction
- build skills through development and design simulations
- travel overseas for a course on International Property
- share a studio with the Master of Architecture and Master of Planning students
- complete a major supervised project on property issues.
Where could it take you?
You might assess the feasibility of a multi-storey tower in Dubai. You could work with landlords and tenants managing retail centres in Sydney. Perhaps you’ll assess the redevelopment potential of properties or advise sponsors on how best to invest.
Note: The program is offered in semester mode with intakes in February and July.

The Master of Property program is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. RICS accreditation is an internationally recognised professional standard which allows graduates to work in the property industry in many countries around the world.
The Master of Property program is accredited by Consumer and Business Services. CBS accreditation allows graduates to register as land agents, sales representatives or property managers in South Australia.

Degree StructureThe degree shares a number of its introductory first year courses with master's degrees in Business, Economics, Law, Planning and Project Management. The degree also shares a studio with the Master of Architecture and Master of Planning.
The urban development process is a central area for study that prepares students for negotiation with architects, planners, development financiers and landowners.
The program includes an International Property course which takes place in an international location outside of Australia.

AssessmentAssessment takes a number of forms including written reports and essays, studio based development exercises, oral presentations and simulations of real life property scenarios as well as formal examinations. A capstone Development Studio project puts Property students alongside Planning and Architecture students in a major development and design simulation. A final Dissertation allows students to demonstrate their mastery of property issues through a significant supervised study.
