Our Master of Commerce provides an opportunity to design an individual study program tailored to your needs, interests and career goals.
What will you do?
Your degree can include courses from a variety of different disciplines. You will:
- enrol in five core topics
- choose eight electives—from Strategic Marketing or Understanding Consumers, to Income Taxation or Derivatives
- undertake industry internships and placements (subject to approval)
- complete a research methods course and a research project.
Where could it take you?
If your strengths lie in understanding and working with people you might pursue marketing or project management. You could put your skills to use championing early-stage start-ups. Perhaps you’ve a knack for patterns and numbers that will see you move into corporate accounting or market research.
For those who are based in Adelaide, we will be offering a blended delivery mode that combines face-to-face with remote learning in as many courses as possible, taking into consideration social distancing and hygiene. All lectures will continue to be delivered online for the remainder of the year, with some exceptions.
For our students who are studying offshore for the remainder of the 2021 Academic Year, the University will continue to offer high-quality access to the learning resources remotely for most programs. This includes all lectures, tutorials and other support material. Students will be advised in advance if there are course components that cannot be provided in remote mode and, wherever possible, offered alternative courses. Please refer to the COVID-19 FAQ page for a list of programs where in-person attendance is required.

Graduates are well equipped for a wide range of positions, including: accountant, administrative assistant, lecturer, market researcher, marketer/marketing manager, auditor, banker, business analyst, business consultant, business data analyst, education coordinator, natural resource manager, business lawyer, natural resource planner, curator, police officer, political adviser, politician, or project officer.
Roles may also be found in the areas of agricultural marketing, food and wine, wine advertising/promotion, and parks management.

Students complete five core courses and six closed elective courses. The remaining two elective courses will be chosen from a number of electives, depending on the student's main specialisation.
Students must also complete a research methods course and a research project.
