Open your data career window

There’s a reason data science is among the Australian Government’s national priority workforce areas: data analytics-related jobs have increased almost 700% since 2012, and that growth’s only predicted to get stronger.

Our new Undergraduate Certificate in Data Science will give you a valuable introduction to this rapidly expanding field—ideal for upskilling, strengthening your CV, or laying the foundations for a full, related bachelor degree.

What will you do?

Conducted over six months full-time or 12 months part-time, this flexible program is designed and taught by our world-class, research-active data science experts. Through a flexible combination of face-to-face and digital learning, you will:

  • gain a broad, introductory knowledge of data science, statistics and programming, and their underlying mathematical concepts
  • build fundamental skills in applying these disciplines’ principles and methods to real-world data use
  • learn to apply critical, independent thinking to conduct sound data analysis.

Where could it take you?

You could go on to a full bachelor degree in computer science, IT or mathematical and computer sciences—whether to start your first career, or a rewarding new one. You might draw on your enhanced capabilities to step up in an existing role. Perhaps the qualification will help you win a well-deserved promotion.

*Commonwealth Support for the Undergraduate Certificates is only available to domestic students in 2021 as part of the Australian Government's Job Ready Graduates package. On current advice, you must also complete the qualification by 31 December 2021. Students can look to continue further studies into a Bachelor degree with credit.

Please note:
Semester one applications close on 8th March, 2021. The late application fee for semester one, 2021 will be waived.
