  • Biography/ Background

My research involves two primary areas:

    Ocean Wave Energy Harvesting

Wave Energy Research at the University of Adelaide was established in 2014. I'm leading the R&D work in this research field including wave energy converter design, optimisation, control and techno-economic assessment in partnership with leading scientists and industries across the globe. I am the deputy director & executive manager within the Australia-China Joint Research Centre of Offshore Wind & Wave Energy Harnessing. I am a key member of the University of Adelaide Acoustics, Vibration and Control Research Group. My research on modelling, modal analysis and control of point absorber wave energy converter was recognized by the Australian Endeavour Fellowship Award.

    Robotics, Control and Biomechanics

Based in the Flinders Medical Device Research Institute, I study 6DOF robotic testing technologies and joint biomechanics. My work on developing the 6DOF medical hexapod robot was awarded the 2012 Malcolm Kinnaird Engineering Excellence Award by Engineers Australia, being South Australia's highest annual engineering recognition.

I have extensive practical experience on real-time control system development, in particular based on the configurable National Instruments and Mathworks solutions. I also have extensive management experience on partnership development for many large-scale research and industrial projects in area such as renewable energy. My consulting rate is reasonable, which guarantees project outcome delivery and achieves value for money.
