  • Biography/ Background

    Dr Frances Corrigan completed her PhD studies highlighting the neuroprotective properties of the amyloid precursor protein following traumatic brain injury.   . Her research is primarily focussed on the mechanisms whereby concussion or mild traumatic brain injury can lead to the development of neurodegeneration, with particular interest in the role of neuroinflammation.  This research also aims to identify novel pharmacological agents to prevent the long-term consequences of concussion. Her research has appeared in a variety of high-quality, peer-reviewed journals, and she has presented it at both national and international conferences.
