  • Biography/ Background

I completed my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (top 3 highest) at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (formerly known as Hanoi University of Agriculture) in 2008. I then completed my Master of Biotechnology degree with first class honours at Flinders University in 2015. I accepted a lectureship at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Vietnam National University of Agriculture (Hanoi, Vietnam) from 2010 to 2018. I taught veterinary pharmacology to veterinary undergraduate students.

I started my PhD project in 2018 entitled “Pre-clinical in vitro and in vivo testing of novel antimicrobials for the treatment of bacterial infections” under the supervision of Prof Darren Trott, Dr Abiodun David Ogunniyi, Dr Torben Nielsen and Dr Stephen Kidd at School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, The University of Adelaide (UoA) in collaboration with our Australian research partner (Neoculi Pty Ltd) directed by Dr Stephen W. Page. My PhD work was recognized with a 2022 University Doctoral Research Medal and Mace Bearer (UoA), Dean’s Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence (UoA) and SA Government International Students Award (Highly Commended): Academic Excellence Postgraduate-Research (awarded by SA government).

I am currently a post-doctoral researcher in an NHMRC Ideas Grant led by Dr Abiodun David Ogunniyi at the Australian Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Ecology, the University of Adelaide, directed by Prof. Darren Trott.
