About me

Holger is Professor of Environmental Engineering at Adelaide University, an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne and a Founding Director and Member of the Systems Cooperative. He is an internationally recognised expert in systems thinking, natural hazard risk mitigation, risk and uncertainty analysis, strategic planning under uncertainty, decision support, climate risk assessment and adaptation, AI and machine learning methods and optimisation. He currently leads a number of projects applying decision support systems to long-term disaster risk reduction, people-centric climate impact assessments, urban stormwater management using machine learning and smart technologies and the decarbonisation of the gas industry.
