  • Biography/ Background

    I have a background in Social Work and Psychology and have worked as a counsellor in both government and non-government settings, such as Women’s Health and Sexual Health, for over 20 years.

    I have particular expertise in working with diverse young people on trauma and sexual violence, sexuality and gender identity, relationships, and grief and loss. My work is client-centred and trauma informed and draws on a wide range of tools and approaches in my work with clients.

    Approaches include ACT (Mindfulness), Narrative Therapy and relational as well as body-inclusive approaches. I find it important to bring attention to dynamics involving gender, power and the impact of broader culture and society in how we experience or think about issues. I also enjoy empowering clients, bringing their own knowledge and expertise forward in sessions.
