  • Biography/ Background

    Josh Zeunert is an AILA registered Landscape Architect with a Masters of Architecture.

     

    After graduating, Josh spent five years working in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design in Sydney, predominantly as Senior Landscape Architect/Architect and Environmental Manager at internationally awarded design and environmental practice McGregor Coxall.

     

    Josh has significant experience in shifting project scales from regional planning, strategy and design, to civic and urban design, as well as detailed design and documentation.

     

    Josh returned to Adelaide in 2010 and currently holds a Lecturer position at The University of Adelaide. Previously, he has held casual academic positions at the University of New South Wales and at the University of South Australia.

  • Awards & Achievements

    Josh has worked on a range of international, national and state award-winning projects including Ballast Point Park; Australia’s largest urban renewal Green Square Town Centre Public Domain; Darling Harbour Pavements and Lighting; Mildura Waterfront;  Victoria Square/Tarndanyangga Urban Regeneration Project and Bowden Urban Village. 


    Josh was part of the founding team of the AILA award winning Biocity Studio, disseminating innovative environmental research and systems design between universities and professional practice.

     

    Labeled ‘Adelaide’s greenest ex pat’ by the Adelaide Magazine in recognition of his impact on the built environment, Josh has also sat on the expert panel for the ‘Stirring the Possum’ public forum series and has participated in round tables, lectures, and conferences. In 2009, he received the AILA National Bruce Mackenzie Future Leaders Scholarship.

  • Research Interests

    Josh’s research interests include sustainable urbanism, design as research, biodiversity and design, aesthetic urban agriculture design and the cultural and environmental perceptions of the Australian landscape.

    Josh is a host of ‘The Plan’, a weekly radio show in Adelaide that focuses on ‘architecture, environment and affect’, Radio Adelaide 101.5fm 6-7pm Wednesday's.
