  • Teaching Interests

I am interested in teaching courses in Materials and Manufacturing including the following courses:

MECH ENG 3026-7067 Aerospace Materials & Structures

    CHEM ENG 1009 Materials 1

MECH ENG 2020 Materials & Manufacturing

  • Research Interests

My research focuses on advanced materials and manufacturing. These materials have applications in optics, semiconductors, mechanical structures, dental restorations, osteoporosis/osteoarthritis studies, and marine/animal sciences. Much of my research involves collaborations with scholars or practitioners in physics, materials science, dentistry, anatomy, orthopedic surgery, tribology, and zoology. I have published some 90 refereed journal papers and 9 book chapters, and produced 2 patents and a dozen industrial project reports. My publications can be viewed at Google Scholar or Scopus.  I have also given over 60 conference presentations and 30 industrial consortia and public seminars on four continents.

    PhD Scholarship Opportunities

I am an eligible Principal Supervisor to supervise research programs at the PhD/Master degree level in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Adelaide. I am interested in receiving inquiries from prospective PhD and Masters by Research candidates with background in mechanical or materials engineering, who are interested in the research areas of advanced materials and manufacturing.
