The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research) is responsible for research-related strategic planning and policy, co-ordination of the University's research budget, and development and support of research alliances and partnerships. The office is also responsible for supporting the Animal Welfare Officer.
The Research Branch supports the University's research endeavour and performance by providing services to the University's research community in relation to external competitive research grants and postdoctoral fellowships, pre- and post- award. The Branch oversees the HERDC research publications data collection on behalf of the University and supports research compliance related activities including Human Research Ethics, Animal Ethics, Gene Technology regulation (Institutional Biosafety Committee) and Quarantine. The Research Branch also provides administrative support for the University Research Committee and advice on relevant University research policies.
The Adelaide Graduate Centre (AGC) is responsible for postgraduate research administration and quality assurance, including ensuring that research students have the highest quality of supervision and have opportunities for professional development. The Adelaide Graduate Centre also administers postgraduate research scholarships.
Adelaide Microscopy is a centrally located facility and consulting service, which offers a broad range of the most technologically advanced instrumentation for microscopy and microanalysis.
ARI Pty Ltd provides services to the University's research community by providing assistance with intellectual property, legal contract advice, technology transfer and commercialisation advice.
The Laboratory Animal Services unit supports the biomedical research community through the delivery of best practice and world standard laboratory animal products and services.
