Australia’s No.1 entreprenerial progam is coming to France

The Australian eChallenge, powered by The University of Adelaide, is offering French students an opportunity to launch their entrepreneurial ventures in South Australia.

Since 2001, the Australian eChallenge has been stimulating new business prospects and encouraging young entrepreneurs to have a go at starting up their own business. Since its inception, the Australian eChallenge has had over 2370 participants in 530 start-ups with total cash and prizes worth more than $1.3 million.

Our Success

Tapping into the South Australian entrepreneurial ecosystem the Australian eChallenge connects the business community to students, academics and the general public. Connecting these like-minded individuals during the process of the competition creates a great energy and it is through this stimulating education process that new entrepreneurs are born.

The Program

The Australian eChallenge is a new venture accelerator run by the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC) and is targeted at university students from any discipline. The Australian eChallenge requires teams of two to six people to develop a business plan for a new, previously unfunded concept.

The Australian eChallenge provides a proven teaching and learning environment that:

  • exposes participants to the world of commercialisation
  • fosters entrepreneurial leadership
  • guides entrepreneurial strategy development
  • teaches strategic business planning and venture financing

Participants attend a series of workshops and are supported by a mentor from the South Australian business community. The business plans developed by the teams are judged by high profile executives from the government and business community. The Australian eChallenge offers great advice, great exposure and helps the participants involved develop entrepreneurial business skills.

Each year the competition draws tremendous interest and support from sponsors, mentors and judges from the business community who are keen to promote innovation and new business talent. Over the years, there have been a number of success stories that started as a concept and developed into a real business by taking part in the Australian eChallenge.

Our Unique Offering

To ensure they have all the necessary tools and are geared for success, participants have access to the Australian eChallenge course containing class notes, readings, video and PowerPoint presentations. There are approximately 8 modules covering all aspects of business planning.
