Innovation plays a crucial role in sustaining health. Areas like biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, information technology, the development of medical devices and equipment have made significant contributions to improving the health of people around the world.

From seemingly small innovations like adhesive bandages to larger, more complex technologies like MRI machines, artificial organs, and robotic prosthetic limbs, continuous innovation is vital.

In response to this need Australian eChallenge Medical Innovations was developed to support medical innovators looking to launch new products or services within a supported and structured environment.

Innovation is the Key

The focus of the Australian eChallenge Medical Innovations program is to increase innovation within the medical field. This could include:

  • Medical innovations that introduce dramatic new capabilities,
  • Incremental innovations in existing medical products and processes,
  • Modifying, upgrading and improving existing medical devices/products/services with an innovative step, or
  • Taking an existing device and applying it to a new situation to achieve better outcomes for patients.


First prize is $10,000 in cash with the potential for investment into your opportunity to the value of $50,000 to $1,000,000
