Shark Tank eSchool

The University of Adelaide has joined forces with Sony Shark Tank and MIE Lab to deliver the eChallenge in local, regional, public and private schools across the State.

The Australian eChallenge program has had a long and successful presence in South Australian high schools. In 2019, the program has gone up another level.

Who can register?

The program is open to Year 10 and 11 students, delivered in school, but with opportunities to interact with the University, the wider public, and Shark Tank personnel. Each module in the program is designed as an engaging step-by-step innovation process which ensures that students are actively engaged in their own learning.

What will you learn?

The program teaches students to think creatively and develop solutions to real world problems, while prototyping their ideas and pitching and presenting these to a panel of experts. By equipping students with the skills, knowledge, understanding and personal capabilities to participate and successfully compete in a fast-paced global society, the students of today can build their own futures for tomorrow.

What will students receive?

Student who successfully complete all assignments can access learning credits at three levels of education:

SACE credit
Shark Tank eSchool is mapped to the Business Innovation Year 11 course and Business and Economics for Year 10 students and the 2 Cert IV units equivalent to 10 SACE credits.

VET pathway credit
Students can have learning recognised toward 2 units of a Certificate IV in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation (25% of the Cert IV qualification). The two units of credit from this qualification can also be applied to a range of Certificate IV qualifications and career pathway options at TAFE.

University of Adelaide pathway course credits
1 undergraduate course credit towards any Adelaide Business School degree at the University of Adelaide.
