Lighting Retrofits

Investment in new lighting technology and the replacement of thousands of old globes, has reduced carbon emissions, and improved system reliability and lighting levels.

Hundreds of lighting fixtures within buildings and on our campus grounds have been retrofitted with LED globes. This technolgy is more energy efficient has a longer lifespan, therefore reducing maintenance costs.

  • Number of lights retrofitted: 3,524
  • Cost: $1.8 million
  • Lifetime savings: $2.9 million
  • Lifetime energy savings: 32,285 GJ
  • Lifetime GHG emission reduction: 4,396 tonnes CO2-e
  • Average payback period: 6 years
