LED Night Lighting
Night lighting is an important part of making our campuses safe after dark. Recently the University has upgraded night lighting systems across the North Terrace Campus to improve lighting quality and energy efficiency.
The campus has been retrofitted with 578 night lights with impressive results. The energy intensity of the lighting system has been reduced by 50% and reliability greatly improved through LED technology. The retrofit is due to save the University almost $140k annually through electricity and maintenance savings, and expected to payback in less than 4 years.
The new lights also project a warmer, more welcoming aura to the campus following the transition from 6500k to 4000k colour temperature. Next time you're walking around campus at night, have a look at these new lamps!
