Staying safe & well at the ELC during COVID-19

The English Language Centre is committed to supporting students to commence and continue their study plan at the ELC through face-to-face or online classes.

The health and well-being of our students and staff remains our top priority.

If you are in Adelaide and returning to Face-to-Face classes, you will see:

  • signage about room capacity, social distancing, use of shared spaces, and personal hygiene
  • wide availability of hand sanitiser and handwashing facilities
  • increased cleaning of shared and high-use areas
  • the provision of wipe-down facilities for use by staff and students in shared facilities.

One of the most important ways to protect our community is to practice good hygiene, including washing your hands regularly, and to stay home if you are unwell.

We are committed to supporting students who are not able to be in class, or who are staying away from class due to illness.

If you are unwell, you can:

  • use the Department of Health's healthdirect online symptom checker
  • call the National Coronavirus Helpline (open 24/7) on 1800 020 080
  • call 000 if it is a medical emergency

The University of Adelaide is closely monitoring the coronavirus situation and is working with state and national authorities on its response to COVID-19. For further information, please visit the University of Adelaide FAQs which is updated regularly with the latest information.
