About the Project
Energy Storage is the key to integrating intermittent renewables into the electricity grid while ensuring continuity and reliability of electricity supply.
The Australian Energy Storage Knowledge Bank Project is supported by the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and is the result of a significant work from a range of companies and partners. The proposal to develop the capability to test and trial energy storage systems in the field and under lab conditions was developed in 2013.
By demonstrating energy storage in a range of applications and contributing data from these deployments to other industry participants, the project will accelerate the deployment of energy storage and thus facilitiate greater integration of renewable electricity into the electricity grid.
