Researcher Resources

Adelaide Enterprise provides University of Adelaide researchers with tailored commercialisation solutions.

Commercialisation is a tool by which you can maximise the economic and social impact of your research, but also build the skills and partnerships required to advance your career.

Engage with us early, so we can assist you from the moment of discovery, through planning, setting a commercialisation strategy and finally delivering your product or service to market.

Adelaide Enterprise services are provided free to University of Adelaide researchers.

  • Commercial Assessment

An innovation disclosure is a notification to Adelaide Enterprise of the outcome of a research project or an idea that might lead to commercial application. We will review each disclosure for its commercial viability and work with you to identify and protect any IP and then package it for commercialisation - maintaining confidentiality at all times. If you have an idea or research project which may have commercial potential, contact us before you send out your article or conference paper abstract.

    IP Group

The University of Adelaide is a beneficiary in a $200m venture fund established by the IP Group. Information on IP Group and the funding it provides can be downloaded here.

If you are interested in presenting a technology to the IP Group, please fill in the template and email or talk to one of our Commercial Managers.

If you are seeking to submit a full invention disclosure, please continue to use the Invention Disclosure Form.

  • IP Protection

If you are a University of Adelaide researcher we can help identify, protect, and commercialise your intellectual property (IP). Adelaide Enterprise has vast experience translating IP to industry to achieve profound commercial, environmental and social impacts.

Within an environment in which ideas are often freely shared, the University's IP Policy aims to ensure that, where desirable, the University captures and harnesses the value of its intellectual property. It also aims to provide incentives for staff and students to create valuable IP and, where they do so, to reward their innovation..

  • Funding & Industry Engagement

Adelaide Enterprise works with local, national and international funding partners who provide support to early stage innovations. We can help you to access venture capital funding, angel investment and other types of funding support including our own Commercial Accelerator Scheme and our Open Innovation Partnership with global biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

The Research Contracts & Partnerships team supports other areas of industry engagement - including contract research, commercial consulting and collaborations. Contact RCP for further information.

  • Technology Licensing

Licensing is a popular commercialisation method for much of the intellectual property that is developed within the University. Adelaide Enterprise will work with you to identify commercial partner(s) active in industry and negotiate suitable partnering arrangements for the future development of your product, method, or service.

  • Start Ups

For some technologies, creating a Start Up company is a more appropriate commercialisation strategy than Licensing. When that opportunity arises, Adelaide Enterprise will create the company and secure the investment and resources to manage it.
