Citizen Science

The Environment Institute is proud to support a number of citizen science projects that engage with the public.

Citizen science is a great way for the public to be involved in research and to make a remarkable difference in collecting useful data which would not be available to our researchers in any other way. These projects are also funded by grants and donations. Feel free to show your support today.

EchidnaCSI

EchidnaCSI encourages the public to take photos of echidnas through a dedicated app and to collect echidna scats for molecular analysis of their diet and gastric health. This vital work helps monitor echidnas which numbers are in decline.

iBandi

iBandi helps Adelaide Hills' citizen scientists, find food and shelter for endangered bandicoots by using a dedicated app.
