The FOODplus Research Centre conducts both basic and applied research across a broad range of areas that link food, nutrition and sustainable agriculture to improve human health. We are commited to the conduct of high quality intervention studies to provide the best evidence to inform industry, policy makers and health professionals.

What are the requirements for a PhD at FOODplus?

FOODplus seeks motivated students with a first class or high 2A honours degree (or equivalent degree with a research component) or a high score (>80%) in a Masters (research) degree in one of the following fields:

  • Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Nursing
  • Biomedical Sciences
  • Domestic PhD Student Applications

    We currently do not have any Domestic PhD positions available

    Australia or New Zealand* citizens or Australian permanent residents wanting to do a PhD at the FOODplus Research Centre, please use the link below to complete an application form. This form is an application for both admission into the FOODplus program and for a possible FOODplus Scholarship.

    If you are accepted in FOODplus, please be aware you must also apply for (and gain) admission into The University of Adelaide. If your application is accepted by FOODplus, FOODplus will support your application to the university.

    *New Zealand permanent residents are classified as international students and so need to use the application form for international PhD students (see below).

    FOODplus is a multicultural research facility attracting researchers from all over the world. We welcome applications from international students and you can use the link below to complete an application form.

    All postgraduate research studies at the FOODplus Research Centre are done in conjunction with The University of Adelaide. If you are accepted into FOODplus, please be aware you must also apply for (and gain) admission into The University of Adelaide.

    Please also be aware that FOODplus Scholarships for international students do not cover university tuition fees. International students will therefore be asked to apply for a university scholarship to cover this cost. FOODplus will support you in this endeavour.

    If English is not your native language, you are reuqired by The University of Adelaide to submit an internationally recognised English Language proficiency certificate, such as IELTS or TOEFL. This is the case even if English was the language used in one of your degrees.
