Barr Smith Library Appeal

Teresa ChittyNote from Teresa Chitty, the University Librarian

Your support for the Barr Smith Library will have an immeasurable impact. It will help us to build upon the rich history of the University Library while providing a world class environment and service for students, researchers and the wider community.

I joined the University of Adelaide in November 2016 and I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead the University Library towards achieving the goals outlined in the Library of the Future plans.

To support these goals The Library will continue to provide the scholarly services and resources that foster the creation of new knowledge through reading, research and learning.

Your gift will enable current and future generations to achieve success and enjoy a high quality learning and research experience through the use of the Barr Smith Library and its collections.

Your gift will provide essential resources for students and research. You will enable them to immerse themselves in history for years to come and encourage them to research their full potential.

In 2016, support from the University’s community funded the Alexander Street Music Online Classical Scores Library. The funds raised also enabled access to the highly sought after Oxford Handbooks Online for Religion and History.

Additionally, the University was able to purchase over 200 individual electronic and print items, ranging from criminology to conservation.

These resources are available to the University’s community because of your generosity and support.

Thank you for your generosity. It makes a significant difference to the work we do, and we are very grateful for your support
