Children's University Appeal
Unfortunately, many children may have never even thought of university as a possibility. Some may not know anyone who has been to a university or graduated. This is where Children’s University Australia steps in.
Run by the University of Adelaide, Children’s University offers engaging and rich learning opportunities for 7-18 year olds outside of normal school activities.
The program works to breakdown perceived barriers to university education, build confidence and foster high educational aspirations. It encourages a love of learning from an early age and demonstrates to children and their parents that university education is practicable, possible and achievable. You can find out more about the program here.
Children participating in the program are issued with a ‘Passport to Learning’ to record their individual learning activities throughout the year.
The children are rewarded and recognised for their commitment and participation at graduation ceremonies in the great Bonython Hall at the University of Adelaide. Dressed in caps and gowns, they are handed their certificates whilst parents, family and friends proudly look on.
Your gift of $30 will cover the costs for one child to participate and celebrate their graduation at a ‘grown-up’ university. Your gift will help us inspire the next generation to raise their aspirations for what they can achieve.
To ensure this program continues in 2018 the Children's University needs to raise $100,000 to provide vulnerable students the best opportunity at gaining a life changing education.
You can help to give the next generation pride, hope and resilience. Please donate to Children’s University Australia today.
The number of students benefiting from this program continues to grow each year, with over 8,500 students participating in South Australia. Your support will help us continue to celebrate and inspire this next generation. Please give today.
