Augustus Short Scholarships support high-performing students who come from rural or remote areas, face financial hardship or another disadvantage. Thanks to the generosity of more than 330 donors, enough money has been raised in 2019 to offer an additional scholarship in perpetuity.

Catherine Sloper is testimony to the fact these scholarships are life-changing for those who might not otherwise have had the opportunity to study at University.

“I’ve always wanted to be a vet, but I was worried about how I would be able to afford uni, as I knew I would have to leave my family in Wallaroo. Receiving this scholarship helped me feel confident about my future. Your gift to this appeal means more students like me can get to University – thank you so much for changing our lives.”Catherine Sloper, Bachelor of Sciences (Veterinary Sciences) 2018 Augustus Short Scholarship recipient
