Spotlight on global partnerships

Joint PhD with University of Nottingham

The University of Adelaide and University of Nottingham (UK) offer a popular joint PhD program, with doctoral scholars primarily based on the Waite and Sutton Bonington campuses respectively. The program began in 2015 in the area of Biosciences (School of Agriculture, Food and Wine), and in 2019 grew to accommodate students across all faculties from both universities. Building on this success, further initiatives are now being developed involving Nottingham’s China and Malaysia campuses.

Mosaic Research Partnership

The University’s Fertiliser Technology Research Centre has a 14-year partnership with US-based The Mosaic Company – the world’s largest provider of potash and phosphate fertilisers. The partnership has supported the University to significantly expand its capabilities and equipment for fertiliser formulation and evaluation, while providing immeasurable value to The Mosaic Company and the growers that depend on their products to increase yields.

Dassault Systèmes

The University has developed a close partnership with French 3D experience company Dassault Systèmes. Dassault Systèmes’ South Australian Regional Centre is co-located on the University’s North Terrace campus, and a multifaceted strategic partnership supports innovative collaboration in both cutting-edge research and education.

Haide College

Based in Qingdao, Haide College is a joint education institute of the University of Adelaide and Ocean University of China. Delivering comprehensive joint degrees in mathematics, biotechnology and food science and engineering, the College provides students access to a global education with a deeper, more nuanced understanding of their disciplines, better intercultural communication skills, and international connections that will facilitate their future careers.
