University of Adelaide welcomes new Indonesian scholars

IISMA students July 2022

The University of Adelaide welcomed its first group of Indonesian International Study Mobility Awards (IISMA) sponsored students late July 2022. The eight IISMA students will spend one semester at the University of Adelaide to study courses outside of their major, in order to develop intercultural communication and leadership skills, experience Australia’s culture, and extend their international networks.

Dr Jessica Gallagher, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) said “The University is delighted to partner with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology under the IISMA Program, and to provide opportunities for Indonesian students to study at our world leading university. We are committed to providing students with access to the knowledge, network and experiences to support them to become the next generation of global leaders in their fields of expertise. We have carefully selected a range of courses across multiple disciplines that will challenge the students, help them to develop critical thinking skills, adaptability and resilience, and prepare them for their future careers upon their return to Indonesia.”
