In accordance with section 12 (1) (d) of the University of Adelaide Act 1971 (10.10.2017), the University of Adelaide Council has established a selection committee, known as the Council Selection Committee. The criteria for the appointment of Council members are detailed in sections 12 (1) (d), 12 (2), 12 (3), 12 (4), 12 (6) of the University of Adelaide Act 1971. The requirements of paragraphs 7 and 8 of the Voluntary Code of Best Practice for the Governance of Australian Public Universities must also be taken into account when considering suitable members for appointment to the Council.
