IMNIS

The University of Adelaide has partnered with IMNIS to develop a new generation of PhD-qualified graduates capable of industry engagement, diverse research collaborations, professional networking and career transitioning with confidence.

  • About IMNIS

The Industry Mentoring Network in STEM (IMNIS) is a prestigious, award-winning industry engagement initiative of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering that partners motivated PhD students (mentees) in STEM with influential, high level industry leaders (mentors) in a one-year mentoring and professional development program.

IMNIS prepares mentees to excel in all aspects of the STEM ecosystem. Mentees have the opportunity to increase their understanding of industry, identify the skills needed to succeed, learn about different career opportunities, and extend their professional network.

  • The program

IMNIS is a one-year program of mentoring, networking, education and training.

Mentees are matched with an industry mentor and will meet with their mentor in a professional setting for an hour each month.

Mentees also have the opportunity to attend a series of state-level networking and professional development events throughout the year.

IMNIS will expose you to industry careers, but it is not a job placement program.

IMNIS is an opportunity to increase your understanding, extend your professional skills, learn what it takes to succeed, and expand your network.
