The Centre for Energy Technology, the Heavy Industry Low-carbon Transition (HILT) CRC, and Mission Innovation's Net Zero Industries (NZI) Mission will be holding the fourth international forum on High Temperature Minerals Processing.
The forum, will build on the outcomes of the previous HiTeMP forums on identifying the next steps for decarbonising heavy industry. World leading experts will meet and participate in the discussion to further shape a carbon-constrained future to prepare for the new, low-carbon economy.

The HiTeMP forum brings together some 200 delegates from industry, research and government agencies, drawn from some 15 countries, to accelerate the transition to net zero for high temperature industrial processes. Its unique focus on the synergy between the various types high temperature industrial processes fosters both cross-industry learnings, new circular-economy opportunities and the establishment of industrial hubs.
Hi-TeMP-4 will feature:
- Invited keynote and panellists, , as described in the program, addressing the themes of:
- Global and national drivers for industrial decarbonisation
- Exemplars in high temperature industrial decarbonisation
- Industrial hubs and their role in lowering costs
- Energy Infrastructure: overcoming the barriers
- Finance, Policy and Regulation Iron and Steel - Synthesis of directions
- Beneficiation & recovery: upgrading, coproducts and circularity
- Electrification of high temp processes (calciation, reduction, Re-heating, etc)
- Iron and Steel: : Prospective pathways
- Alumina & Critical Minerals – Propspective pathways
- Cement and lime: Prospective pathways
- Poster Papers, with the option for fast-track publication in a special issue journal publication;
- Industrial Exhibition, to be introduced for the first time in HiTeMP
