This event promotes health and wellbeing for life with a range of different activities, assessments and information sessions. It is free for all staff.

Botanical Gardens and CBD Walks

There are two 45 minute walks to complete - choose one or both!

    • All you need is a map, questionnaire, walking shoes, water and sunscreen.
    • Complete the questionnaire in order to go into the draw to win a prize!
    • The walks can can be completed from now until 5.00pm Thursday 2 October 2014!
    • Submit your completed questionnaire to Lower Ground floor, 10 Pultney Street.

Wednesday 1 October 2014

Skin Cancer Screenings
A qualified medical practitioner will conduct a 10 minute skin check with the aid of a dermatoscope assessing for any suspicious lesions or moles.
  • 9.00am - 4.00pm (individual bookings - 10 minutes each)
  • First Aid Rest Area (Building D6)
Mental Health First Aid Information Session
Learn the signs and symptoms, where and how to get help, and what sort of help is effective. Participants will build awareness of how to help others with mental health illness such as depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance abuse disorders.
  • 2.00pm - 3.00pm
  • Eastick lecture room
This session will be delivered by a psychologist and will also introduce the University’s new service “Colleague Assist”.

Energy Boost Information Session
This session will provide staff with knowledge on the effects, signs and symptoms of fatigue.  It also offers practical tips around the best foods to choose and avoid for greater energy, the use of caffeine, effects of alcohol and tips on sleep and recover.

Meditation Information Session and Practice
Meditation is an ancient skill that can be learnt in modern times.  It can be used to overcome stress, anxiety and promote wellbeing.  You will learn meditations that cultivate concentration, kindness and mindfulness.
