Indigenous Research at the University of Adelaide

"The University wishes to acknowledge the Kaurna people, the original custodians of the Adelaide Plains and the land on which the University of Adelaide's campuses at North Terrace, Waite, Thebarton and Roseworthy are built."

In line with the recommendations and initiatives of the Tarrkarri Tirrka (Future Learning) The University of Adelaide Integrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Strategy, the University is committed to increasing the number of Indigenous researchers and research students.

While aiming to broaden our Indigenous research footprint, as this website shows, we start from a solid foundation of existing scholarship that will assist us in improving our Indigenous-related research performance.

As a research-intensive institution engaged with the community, we seek to raise the profile of Indigenous research and researchers within the University, and then to build upon that existing capacity.

With University-wide support, we will provide pathways for research students and early career researchers to help realise the ambitions of future generations of Indigenous Australians to access and succeed in higher research and education.
