The old Council Chamber (level 7 Kenneth Wills building), has recently been refurbished to allow for better utilisation of the space.
The open plan room (now known as 'The Cog', and occupied by a range of teaching staff from across the University) features flexible seating and designated spaces for creative design and workshops.
Maintenance and safety equipment have been upgraded and the east concrete façade replaced with full height glass windows, showcasing views of Elder Hall and the courtyard below.
AV-enabled meeting rooms and interactive zones support permanent and visiting occupants. Pink highlights on the carpeted floor show where the old council table used to be - as you can see from the photos in the gallery below, the chairs in the Chamber were upholstered hot pink!
